Expedition | Sao Jorge Island
Consists on the descent to one of the most remote Fajãs of the island. Abandoned in 1980 because of an earthquake that same year. Sanguinhal is now the home to a vast and wild flora that grows in the old houses. To get there we start by walking through an old and wild path, once we arrive we set camp by the sea followed by an exploration of the Fajã visiting the great 90m waterfalls that exist there.
At night we make a campfire and share experience stories with the sound of the ocean and the night sounds of the Fajã in the background. The next day the campsite is lifted and we head back to the South side of the island by boat. In case the ocean conditions don't allow us to exit by boat the return will have to be through the hiking trail.
